A Donated Wedding Limo
It might not have been a trip to Disneyland, but for cancer victim, Erin Egginton it was like a fairytale had come true, when she married Craig Campbell. Only two weeks after the diagnosis indicated she had beaten the disease, she was told that the cancer had spread into her spine and lungs.
The Sussex Inlet community helped ensure the hastily arranged wedding was a ‘dream come’ true for Ms Egginton. The local Bowling Club bought Ms Egginton's dress, while the Sussex Inlet RSL Club offered the reception venue, and the kitchen provided a buffet meal. But the level of community support did not stop there; the services of a stretch limousine, marriage celebrant and entertainment, were also provided free of charge, while a balloon arch, hair and beauty treatments, and make-up were all donated to help create a special day for the couple who have had a long battle with health problems.
While it has often been said that it is better to give than to receive, the level of community support took Ms Egginton by surprise as she had no idea what lengths they had gone to, to make it an elaborate affair. And, as if to put icing on the cake, the weather and setting were ideal for the wedding. According to friend Megan Longdon, Erin had a beautiful day.
